Seminar 1: The sector briefing
The Mineral Products Association has its finger on the pulse of the political, economic and sustainability landscape. The first session of the day will set you up with a briefing on the political and economic outlook of the sector, followed by an explainer of the brand-new UK Concrete Sustainability Strategy Framework.
Seminar 2: Resilience in an uncertain climatic future
In an uncertain climatic future one constant is the resilient properties of concrete. From infrastructure to housing, concrete is enabling climate adapted performance. In this session we will hear from projects which are demonstrating concretes resilience and understand what clients want in this space.
Seminar 3: Enabling decarbonisation
There is action we can all take today to decarbonise our industry. From expanding the choice of materials in our mixes to digitalisation and A.I enabling greater efficiencies the carbonisation options are out there. In this session we will explore the implications of changes to BS8500 and hear about other decarbonisation initiatives in the precast sector.
Seminar 4: Realising the future homes standard
The implementation of the future homes’ standard is on the horizon and developers are looking for dependable solutions. Masonry construction has already demonstrated its ability to meet the requirements of the standard. The question is what actions should the sector take, post future homes standard, to remain as the developers first choice for housing. Guests from the Future Homes Hub and housing sector will give their insights.
