MPA Precast team with the Vietnamese Team at the MPA office in Glenfield, Leicester

Hosted by the Mineral Products Association, the Institute’s Vice President Colin Nessfield FICT welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Trung Thanh, President of VIBM and President of the Vietnam Concrete Association and his colleagues to the MPA offices in Glenfield, Leicester.

Discussions on a wide range of technical and #sustainability activities in the UK and Vietnam were held, with a particular interest in the development of transportable 3D Concrete Printing technology and a number of mutual interests. The visitors were also welcomed by UK Concrete Campaign and Communications Manager Matthew Butcher, Sustainability Manager Dr. Hafiz Elhag, and a remote presentation from MPA Director Claire Ackerman contributing to a successful day.

On their safe return to #Hanoi, our visitors indicated that #Vietnam are looking to potentially increase the use of Euro norms and associated British Standards and we have several areas of mutual interest, with the visitors and ICT being keen to maintain and improve contacts and communications in the future.
