The new blog offers some background on the main European and British standards for precast pipeline products and why third-party certification to BS 5911-3 and appropriate CE Marking documentation is necessary.

The Precast Flooring Federation have published a second Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), detailing the environmental impact of 1m length of precast concrete T-Beam from cradle-to-grave. All British Precast EPDs are verified to EN15804 by Europe’s largest verification body Institut Bauen und Umwelt (IBU).

On June 27th we held our Annual Dinner and Best Practice Awards at the Marriott Hotel, Leicester. Alan Smith, British Precast's President, opened the evening with a welcoming speech. Throughout the night, our members were kept amused by our Toastmaster Norman Brown, and two accomplished magicians.

Climate Change Levy is a tax paid on electricity, gas and solid fuels (such as coal, lignite, coke and petroleum coke) consumed by industrial, commercial, agricultural and public service businesses. It was introduced in 2001 and is paid through electricity, gas and fuel bills.

This year, British Precast returned to The Belfry for our Construction Industry Golf Day. Organised in support of CRASH, a unique, practical charity that assists homelessness and hospice charities with construction-related projects, creating places that care for people, the Golf Day offered a chance for our members to bring along guests, entertain their clients and find out more about British Precast.
