Precast concrete is used in some of the world’s most inspirational building and infrastructure projects. The project awards highlight how precast concrete is used to deliver everything from the countries tallest buildings, to the drainage beneath our feet.
We will be awarding across three separate project categories. Best Building Project, Best Civils / Infrastructure / Landscaping Project and Project Sustainability.
Sustainability and the need to move to a low carbon economy will be the number one issue of the decade to come. All sections of the construction industry will be called upon to contribute to ‘Net Zero’ targets, improve air quality and safeguard biodiversity. The Production Sustainability Award celebrates the excellent work going on at precast factories in the UK and highlights current best practice.
The construction sector is undergoing a much needed modernisation and precast concrete is well placed to drive that change by addressing skills shortages, exploiting new technologies and conducting materials science research. The Innovation Award is a window into the future of precast concrete construction.
Embracing digital technologies is key to success in a modernising construction sector. Developments like Building Information Modelling (BIM), robotics and virtual reality are transforming how we design buildings and manufacture products. The Digital & Manufacturing Excellence Award recognises the outstanding digital transformations going on in the precast sector.
This nomination award is intended to celebrate future leaders and rising stars in the precast concrete industry. Individuals could include (but not limited to) new entrants to the industry, graduates, apprentices etc
MPA and British Precast have joined forces to launch a new Health and Safety Awards scheme for 2021. The new awards build on the success of the long established and highly acclaimed MPA Health & Safety Awards and retain many of the key elements associated with it.
The new scheme has been evolved to encourage submissions from all sectors and sizes of organisations within the mineral products industry. All organisations working within the supply chain of the mineral products industry are free to enter. The entry forms can be downloaded from the Safeprecast website.
This award is presented to individuals or teams and recognises leadership, special efforts or significant contributions to improvements in health and safety in the business or along the supply chain.
The British Precast Creativity In Concrete Award is given for outstanding originality in pushing the boundaries in the design and use of precast concrete and is presented annually at The Concrete Society Awards Dinner.
On June 27th we held our Annual Dinner and Best Practice Awards at the Marriott Hotel, Leicester. Alan Smith, British Precast's President, opened the evening with a welcoming speech. Throughout the night, our members were kept amused by our Toastmaster Norman Brown, and two accomplished magicians.
